Cakes de Voyage or “Gâteaux de Voyage” in French are cakes that can be stored at room temperature and are easy to transport. The financier, created in 1890 by the pastry chef Lasne, was one of the first “Gâteaux de Voyage”. They are consumed as a snack or at the end of a family meal.
